| Abstract | The comparative effectiveness of introducing economic concepts to students of different levels of reading comprehension, reading speed, listening comprehension, mental ability, and socioeconomic background through an overhead projector (transparency) presentation and a programed textbook presentation was investigated. A nonequivalent control group design was utilized with analysis of covariance. The main experimental study was simultaneously conducted at four Rhode Island secondary schools. The subsample was 257 10-grade students. Within group analyses and between group analyses were completed. The findings reported were statistically significant beyond the .05 confidence level. Statistically significant interaction effects were found. (Author) |
