| Abstract | The October 1972 national conference, conducted by the Industrial Arts Division of the American Vocational Association (AVA), focused on the role of industrial arts in career education. The purpose of the document, which is based on presentations and summaries from various work groups, is to more clearly delineate the interrelationships between career education and industrial arts. Selected edited speeches deal with three general areas: (1) Career Education Perspectives--The Change Agent (Rupert N. Evans) and Industrial Arts and Personnel Development (Paul J. Manchak) (2) Legislative for Industrial Arts--Funding Reality (Herbert Siegel) and Funding Implications (Ralph V. Steeb); and (3) Career Education and Industrial Arts--Challenges (Norman R. Stanger), Implications (Leslie H. Cochran and Richard M. Libby), and Strategies (Rutherford E. Lockette). An appendix lists the 120 participants at the conference. (Author/MW) |
