Abstract | Presented are findings from California's State testing program for 1971-72 and 1972-73. The factors (variables) examined were divided into two groups: output factors, indicators of school quality such as scores on achievement tests; and input factors, factors describing the characteristics of school districts such as class size, tax rate, etc. Part I of the report provides a narrative description of the factors examined and is followed by a statistical summary of the data gathered. State averages against which school districts may compare their scores are given. Test scores for previous years are also listed. Part II of this report provides a district profile for each of the school districts in the State and includes all the factors described in Part I. Tentative indications of the quality of the educational program in each school district may be gained by comparing data from each district with data from other districts in the State. (Author/RC) |
