Abstract	The Mastery Education concept is a new approach to providing special help for students who need it in the community college, as well as providing new and innovative experiences for all the students. Using this concept, there would be no special classes with special teachers, but rather all students in all classes would be carried to their highest level of competence. This approach necessitates new restaffing practices, curriculum, instructional options, and supportive services. New opportunities can be afforded to all students when a community college adopts the block-type, vertical-team approach. (DB)
