| Abstract | This document is a supplement to the UNESCO Source Book "Planning for Health Education in Schools" by C. E. Turner. It is intended for those directly concerned with curriculum planning in relation to health--school administrators, health education supervisors, curriculum specialists, individual teachers--but it is also thought to be of interest to the general public. It is designed not as a teacher guide but as a collection of ideas which may be useful in developing teacher guides and curriculum adapted to particular situations in individual countries or regions. The document is divided into six sections: a) Population Education, b) Pollution Education, c) Safety Education, d) Drug Education, e) Venereal Disease Education, and f) Mental Health Education. In each section, various problems are discussed as are implications for school health and school feeding services, healthful school living, and health teaching. Questions for curriculum planners are also included in each section. (JA) |
