| Abstract | This publication, concerned with the teaching of science in open classrooms or informal educational settings, contains four papers: "But Is It Science?" by Lillian Weber; "The Common Roots of Science" by Nathan Isaacs; "Curriculum with a Difference" by Eleanor Duckworth; and "Making a Start," Nuffield Junior Science. Also included are three samples of science in open classrooms: student papers and teacher's notes on The Pond unit by Michael Tempel, "Animals in the Classroom" by Bonnie Brownstein, and "Work in England" by E. R. Wastnedge. A list of resources classified into curriculum programs, books, magazines and miscellaneous and a list of publications (and their prices) from the Workshop Center for Open Education conclude the document.
