AbstractAn evaluation among parents and teachers of an Experimental Progress Report Card was conducted. The study was carried out in eight elementary schools where the Report had been used to report student performance during the 1971-72 school year. A total of 53 teachers and 38 parents were included in the inquiry. Responses of both teachers and parents to the questionnaires suggested that the report card afforded a high degree of individualization. Most parents felt the instrument gave them a good picture of their child's progress. The majority of the parents preferred the new report card to the old card. More than half of the teachers surveyed felt the new care expressed a basically different philosophy--with which they agreed--personalization, individualization, and a lack of comparison and grading. However, most teachers felt revisions were necessary and expressly requested check lists for attitudes and skills. (Author/CK)
