Abstract	A study was undertaken to provide information about whether goal achievement, job satisfaction and clientele satisfaction tended to be associated with the individual county pattern of organization or with the newer multi-county area pattern of organization. Four multi-county areas were compared with individual counties matched according to social, economic, and other factors. Population for the study consisted of extension field staff and a random sample of Extension clientele. Job satisfaction and clientele satisfaction were surveyed by means of the Brayfield-Rothe job satisfaction index and a clinetele satisfaction scale. Job satisfaction was analyzed by means of multivariate analysis of variance. Goal achievement, goal awareness, and clientele satisfaction were analyzed by a T test. Findings included: (1) Multi-county area organization is largely accepted as a successful pattern of organization by both field staff and their clientele; (2) Field staff working in multi-county areas score significantly higher in job satisfaction than do field staff working in individual counties; (3) Extension clientele are aware of 70% of the high priority programs conducted by the extension service during the preceeding year; and (4) There is a positive correlation between expression of job satisfaction by field staff and their rating of goal achievement.
