Abstract | Three major sections comprise this annotated bibliography of recent books and classroom materials compiled to help teachers plan secondary Asian studies courses. The first section lists books, many of which are available in paperback, providing teachers with sources for background reading on Asia in general, Indochina, Japan, Korea, and China. Furnished in the second section are annotated bibliographies of classroom materials on Asia, paperbacks which can be adapted for classroom use, curriculum units on China, additional resources in developing curricula, and ASEA films. The last section focuses on Asian ideology and curriculum materials. Included is a bibliography, Good Reading on China, published by the American Friends Service Committee. Half of the packet is devoted to Important Books 1972 on China, Vietnam and the Third World, Catalog 26, which is incorporated into this bibliography. Entries are arranged geographically within each section and include complete citations with annotations that are both descriptive and analytical. (SJM) |
