Abstract	As part of the Phase II report of the Illinois Occupational Curriculum Project, this document summarizes efforts made to: (1) gain a familiarity with the terminology and theory of systems modeling, (2) study the application of systems modeling in various management settings, and (3) identify factors to be considered in selecting and developing a systems modeling technique for use by occupational administrators. Ultimately the contents of this report will be combined with data gathered in two other major areas of investigation to form the basis for the development of a system model and related guidelines for occupational curriculum development and evaluation. Findings, based on a review of the literature and the opinions of consultants, include: (1) The development of a model should involve the identification of factors relating to the occupational curriculum, whether within the institution or outside the institution, and relating these factors to each other and to the curriculum system as a whole, and (2) The selection of a modeling technique should consider the purpose the model will serve. After careful consideration, it was decided that the flow chart modeling technique using Logos language would be used for this project.
