| Abstract | This report presents imaginary dialogues between a management team and an employee team and critiques the dialogues to emphasize the significance of situations and episodes that can hasten or hamper a settlement at the negotiation table. Three critical incidents are studied within each developmental phase of the negotiation process: (1) procedural decisions, (2) preliminary resolutions, (3) substantive determinations, (4) culminating actions, and (5) final settlements. Closing comments discuss competencies that administrators should cultivate. (JF) |
