| Abstract | This address reviews the current status of the Central School Boards Committee for Educational Research (CSS) as seen by administrators and board members of central school districts. Two areas of concern involve (1) a breakdown of communications between this organization and school districts because of the substantial personnel turnover in the districts, and (2) some issues that confront administrators and board members such as the need for updating instruction, a preoccupation with professional negotiations, a need to clarify and strengthen board-administrator relationships, and the continuing problem of school finance. District support of the statewide committee and utilization of its major research projects are suggested as two possible solutions to these problems. (Author/MLF) |
