| Abstract | Reported are salaries and incomes of engineering teachers based on data obtained from questionnaires distributed by deans of engineering schools to their faculty in October and November, 1968. Approximately 43 percent of the faculty responded. Tabulations and graphs of income of various teaching ranks are provided for different types of institutions, including public and private schools. Data on the relative time spent in teaching, research, consultation, and administration by each rank in each type of school are provided, as well as relationships between age, highest degree earned, and salary. Comparisons with previous surveys of engineering teachers and with non-teaching engineers are made. Appendices list the co-operating institutions by state and contain a facsimile of the questionnaire used. (AL) |
