| Abstract | This report focuses on the nature and forms of student unrest in a sample of schools that make up the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). Although not limited to one type of NAIS school, this study emphasizes boarding schools of the New England and Middle Atlantic States since evidence of student unrest is greater in these schools. Some of the data for the study were obtained from responses to letters sent to directors, faculties, students, and parents representing 115 randomly selected private secondary schools. (JF) |
