Abstract | Arguments are advanced for the inclusion of Latin in predominantly black, inner-city junior and senior high schools. Discussion of Latin offerings in these schools centers on principal and administrator attitudes, teacher recruitment, and student interest. Ways in which Latin can contribute to English skills, professional training, college admission, and cultural education are suggested. (AF) |
