Abstract | Designated as Phase I of a larger follow-up study of high school graduates, the report presented a comparison of students' scores on the Minnesota Scholastic Aptitude Test (MSAT) by school size. The population for the study consisted of all high school juniors attending public high schools in Minnesota who had taken the MSAT during the 1966-67 school year. Analysis of the data indicated that there was a direct correlation between high school size and mean raw scores on the MSAT, with students in smaller school systems doing poorer on the MSAT than students in larger school systems. However, it was noted that the educational level of the father could have accounted for this correlation. Tabular material was presented on enrollments, test results, educational and occupational status of students' fathers, and family attitudes. (TL) |
