| Abstract | This manual of tape scripts, together with a set of foreign language audio tapes for level 1 German, was prepared to support the curriculum bulletin, New York City Foreign Language Program for Secondary Schools: German, Levels 1-4. Vocabulary, repetition, transformation, and recombination drills on specific grammatical features allow further development of understanding and speaking skills. The scripts indicate change in speakers, opportunities for student response following a model, and cues for carefully controlled pattern response. Vocabulary used in each of 17 scripts, each normally requiring ten minutes for practice, is presented. (RL) |
