| Abstract | This book opens with "An Introduction to Simulation" by Nicholas A. Fattu, Institute of Educational Research, Indiana University; he includes a survey of simulation, discussion of its potential for educational applications, and a 60-item bibliography. The remaining chapters are papers presented at the 1964 research symposium which dealt with strategies and tactics then being developed for study of complex phenomena in areas outside of education: (1) "Toward a General Simulation Capability" in which Michael R. Lackner of System Development Corporation, Santa Monica, discusses digital simulation, modeling concepts, and SIMPAC (a "simulation package"); (2) "A Quick Look at Simscript" (a simulation programing language) by Herbert W. Karr, Rand Corporation, Santa Monica; (3) "The Acquisition of Experience in a Complex Management Game" by William R. Dill and Neil Doppelt, Carnegie Institute of Technology; (4) "Simulation of Organizational Behavior" by Kalman J. Cohen, Department of Economics, and Richard M. Cyert, Graduate School of Industrial Administration, Carnegie Institute of Technology; (5) "PLATO: An Electronic Teaching Device" by Donald L.
