| Abstract | The procedure outlined has been established to guide architects and planners in the development of comprehensive long-range physical campus plans for the State University of New York. Part I, the Program State, is an initial reconnaissance of program, site and economic feasibility problems and recommended solutions. Part II, the Plan Development Stage, requires consideration in depth of all aspects of the program of requirements that were briefly considered in the Program Stage. The Plan Development Stage is divided into three phases--(1) concept, consisting of the formation of recommended relationships, (2) schematic, consisting of development of the plan to a level necessary to conclude the feasibility of the concept, and (3) final, consisting of a plan of such refinement that more detailed technical development will not force any radical revision of functional concepts. Following each section are illustrations of some of the types of graphic representation desired, and examples of the type of information to be included. These illustrations are intended as a means of communicating decisions and conclusions reached in the planning process. (RK) |
