Abstract | This directory lists education associations operating in the United States during 1967-68. Information provided for each organization includes name, address of headquarters, name and address of the head, name and address of the secretary, and title(s) of official publications along with frequency of issue. Section I covers (1) associations of educators and other persons directly concerned with schools and colleges; (2) community health, service, or social welfare groups that relate activities to school and college programs; (3) historical, learned, professional research, and scientific organizations related to school or college activities; (4) library and museum associations; and (5) organizations sponsoring youth groups. Section II lists national professional fraternities and honor societies that maintain chapters in colleges and universities. Section III is confined to statewide (1) teacher associations; (2) elementary, secondary, and higher education associations; (3) associations of school administrators and school boards; and (4) parent-teacher and library associations. Section IV contains a brief list of national and regional foundations known to be sponsoring educational projects. Section V lists education associations under religious control. Section VI covers international education associations having members in two or more countries. (TT) |
