Abstract | The report lists the staff and states the activities of the Sensory Aids Evaluation and Development Center (SAEDC). Work accomplished is reviewed, including work on the following; compiled speech output for the DOTSYS Information System; monotype reader; braille embosser; folding canes; pathsounder; Perkins brailler; evaluation of braille; speeded hearing and experimental demonstration; the development of length concepts by blind children; and spectacles. The administrative structure of SAEDC is explained and national advisory and steering committee members are named. Activities detailed are conferences, the special summer session, publications and presentations, special conferences and activities, and consultation. Seven figures are provided of work completed at the Center. (JD) |
