Abstract | A guide for professionals concerned with the prevention of disorders in children, this book describes strengthening very young children's reactions to inevitable emergencies before they occur, illness in the family (including analysis for a dying child), death in the family, divorce and marital separation, minor emergencies, overstimulating and horrifying experiences, the President Kennedy assassination, and a classification of pathogenic experiences. There are several examples of children's drawings, and case histories which illustrate the author's methods of intervention. A 64-item bibliography is included. (LE) |
