Abstract | A SURVEY WAS CONDUCTED OF LANGUAGE ENROLLMENTS OF 1,278 INDEPENDENT SECONDARY SCHOOLS WHICH (1) OFFERED INSTRUCTION LEADING TO GRADUATION FROM SECONDARY SCHOOL AND (2) OFFERED A COURSE IN A LANGUAGE IN GRADES 9-12. THE DISCUSSION OF THE REPORT COVERED SUMMARY OF DATA AND ANALYSIS OF STATISTICAL TABLES. THE FINDINGS INDICATED THAT ENROLLMENTS IN LATIN AND A MODERN LANGUAGE FORMED THE COMMON PATTERN, WITH LATIN ACCOUNTING FOR 46.5 PERCENT OF THE LANGUAGE TOTALS.
