Abstract	Seit der ersten Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts gibt es in den meisten schweizerischen Kantonen eine moderne, staatlich garantierte und öffentlich kontrollierte Volksschule, die sowohl die Erziehung als auch die Bildung der Kinder sichert. Die Gründungen der modernen Volksschulen laufen in vielen Kantonen in einem sehr begrenzten Zeitraum ab, obwohl die vorherige Bildungslandschaft von Heterogenität geprägt war. Zu diesem Institutionalisierungsprozess der modernen Volksschulen möchte der vorliegende Artikel einen Forschungsbeitrag leisten, indem ein Fallbeispiel historisch kontextualisiert wird. Im Zentrum steht die These, dass die Institutionalisierung der Volksschule als eine logische historische Konsequenz der Entwicklungen innerhalb des bestehenden Bildungsmarktes verstanden werden kann. ; In most of the Swiss cantons the modern public school has been errected in the first half of the 19th century. This school secures the education of the children. This homogeneity of the institutionalization of the first elementary school acts in a lot of cantons in a defined period is oppositional to the heterogeneity of the time before. Till the 1830ies schools were in a private education market. The following article focuses that process and seeks to contribute to the research in that field with the contextualization of a case study. The main thesis is that the institutionalization of the elementary school was the logical consequence of the private education market. ; Depuis la première moitié du 19e siècle, il existe, dans la majorité des cantons suisses, une école publique, moderne, garantie par l'État qui assure l'éducation et la formation des enfants. Bien que le paysage de l'éducation et de la formation antérieur à l'école publique moderne ait été marqué par l'hétérogénéité, l'institutionnalisation de cette dernière se produit dans beaucoup de cantons sur une période très délimitée. À l'aide d'une étude de cas historique, cet article contribue à saisir le processus d'institutionnalisation de l'école publique moderne. Nous soutenons l'hypothèse selon laquelle l'institutionnalisation de l'école publique est la conséquence historique logique du marché de la formation préexistant au sein duquel différents modèles d'école ont été expérimentés. ; Una scuola pubblica, moderna, garantita dallo Stato che assicura l'educazione e la formazione dei bambini esiste nella maggior parte dei cantoni svizzeri a partire dalla prima metà del XIX secolo. Sebbene il paesaggio della formazione che precede la scuola pubblica moderna sia marcato da una certa eterogeneità, la sua creazione si realizza in un tempo limitato. L'articolo contestualizza questo processo attraverso uno studio di caso e difende la tesi che l'istituzionalizzazione della scuola pubblicasia la conseguenza logica del mercato della formazione che preesisteva e che ha permesso di sperimentare diversi modelli di scuola.
