From the introduction (translation): In his article, the author shows some secrets of the Japanese folding art of Origami, in which, traditionally, figures are created out of a square piece of paper, without cutting, only by folding. Origamics, a word that combines "Origami and Mathematics", is the art of carrying out geometric constructions through Origami foldings. With Origami foldings it is possible to carry out geometric constructions that are not possible by ruler and compasses alone, particularly the classical three construction problems that were already treated by the ancient Greeks: Cube doubling, angle division into three equal sections, and the construction of regular n-polygons. |
