Abstract | This report starts out by clarifying the terms "PDS," [Professional Development School] "effectiveness," and "evidence." Then, it shows how those definitions shape the body of literature included in this report. Next, the literature is reviewed according to the following three target populations for PDSs: preservice educators, experienced educators and P-12 students. The second part of the report focuses on some observations about trends in documentation studies over the last four years as well as changes in background conditions. It concludes with some thoughts about next steps in the assessment of the impact of PDSs. (DIPF/Orig.). |
