In social work, the interest in die paradigm of systems theory seems unbowed, many findings by Niklas Luhmann seem to be adapted and partially integrated into social work theory formation. Nevertheless the adaptation of systems theory models still creates problems and paradoxes in the theoretical discourse of the science of social work; the anthropological discussion about the human being, or in the words of Kant "What is man?" remains a central issue. From the perspective of social work research concerns this article tries to find an answer to the question of how the human being can be under stood in terms of systems theory. This leads to the question of whether and in which ways systems theory with its exciting and innovative theory design can give prove of its capability for social work. |
