AbstractDeveloping children's physical characteristics is an integral part of every dancesport lesson. Dancesport is becoming more and more popular among children, and it develops their various skills, especially physical ones. This age period (6-11 years) is conductive and very important for dancesport, because the technical preparation of dancers is closely related to skills such as flexibility, coordination, speed and endurance. Flexibility training is a complex pedagogical process based on the physiological laws of adaptation of the organism. It is important to develop flexibility and other physical characteristics in a consistent and focused manner, as this forms the basis for learning the technique of dance movements. The object of the research is the flexibility abilities of primary school children attending sports dances. The aim of the study was to determine and compare the indicators of change in the flexibility skills of primary school children attending dancesport classes. Research methods: pedagogical experiment and testing. The set of tests consisted of Sit and Reach Flexibility Test, Lateral Side-Bending Flexibility Test (EUROFIT, 2017) and Shoulder Rotation Test (Skernevicius et al. 2004). The study involved 8- to 11-year-old children from the DanceSport school Tendance (n = 60): 24 boys and 36 girls. Boys accounted for 40% of research subjects and girls accounted for 60%. The average age of the research subjects was 9.40 ± 1.18 years. The subjects were divided into two groups: experimental (E) and control (K). There were 32 subjects in the group E (n = 32) and 28 subjects in the group K (n = 28). During the pedagogical experiment, which lasted for one school year (2019-2020), a special Flexibility Training Program was implemented at the DanceSport school Tendance (Klaipeda). Research results. After the pedagogical experiment, the results of the experimental group were better than the results of the control group in all flexibility tests. Assessing the overall change in results it was found that the results of the Sit and Reach Flexibility Test and the Shoulder Rotation Test improved statistically significantly in both E and K groups, the results of the Lateral Side-Bending Flexibility Test - only in the group E. After evaluating the indicators of the change of flexibility skills of primary school children attending dancesport classes by gender, it was found that there was a statistically significant change in the results of two tests: "Sit and reach" (p ( 0.001) and "Shoulder rotation" (p ( 0.001) for boys and girls in groups E and K. In the "Bend torso to the side" test, a statistically significant change in the results was found only in the groups of E boys and E girls. At the beginning of the educational experiment, groups E and K were homogeneous according to the results of all three flexibility tests, and after the pedagogical experiment statistically significantly differed according to the "Sit and reach" (p ( 0.05) and "Bend torso to the side" (p ( 0.001) test results. During secondary testing, statistically significant differences were found between the results of the test "Sit and reach" between the boys in groups E and K (p ( 0.01) and the results of the test "Bend torso to the side" between boys in groups E and K (p ( 0.001) and girls in groups E and K (p ( 0.01). Dancesport exercises develop flexibility of primary school children, and by applying special flexibility skills development exercises during practice, the positive change in the results becomes even more pronounced and this confirms the effectiveness of the applied curriculum for flexibility training. Tyrimo objektas - pradiniu klasiu vaiku, lankanciu sportiniu sokius, lankstumo gebejimai. Tyrimo tikslas - nustatyti ir palyginti pradiniu klasiu vaiku, lankanciu sportiniu sokiu uzsiemimus, lankstumo gebejimu kaitos rodiklius. Tyrimo metodai: pedagoginis eksperimentas ir testavimas. Testu rinkini sudare sie testai: "Sestis ir siekti", "Liemens lenkimas i sona" (EUROFITAS, 2017), "Peciu sukimo" testas (Skernevicius et al., 2004). Tyrime dalyvavo sportiniu sokiu klubo "Tendance" 8-11 m. vaikai (n = 60): 24 berniukai ir 36 mergaites. Berniukai sudare 40 % tiriamuju, mergaites - 60 % tiriamuju. Vidutinis tiriamuju amzius - 9,40 ± 1,18 metu. Tyrimo dalyviai buvo suskirstyti i eksperimentine (E) ir kontroline (K) grupes. E grupeje buvo 32 tiriamieji (n = 32), K grupeje - 28 tiriamieji (n = 28). Pedagoginio eksperimento, trukusio vienerius mokslo metus (2019-2020), metu sportiniu sokiu mokykloje "Tendance" (Klaipeda) igyvendinta speciali lankstumo gebejimu ugdymo programa. Tyrimo rezultatai.
