Abstract | 2017 führte das Zentrum für Lehrerbildung, Schul- und Berufsbildungsforschung (ZLSB) der TU Dresden eine Befragung von Lehramtsstudierenden der Universität zum Thema Auslandsmobilität durch. Students of the higher semesters were surveyed in the context of an information event on the preparatory service. In addition to the frequency of stays abroad and the associated motives, the duration, funding programs used and sources of information, the reasons why no stay abroad during the studies were asked. Overall, more than a quarter of the students surveyed (27.1 %) had spent time abroad with the majority of them being students in the teaching program for grammar schools. The most frequent motives for a stay abroad across all teacher training programs are voluntary and compulsory internships. Only four percent of the students who had not completed a stay abroad as part of their studies at the time of the survey stated that they were still planning to do so. The majority (60.2 %) do not intend to spend any time abroad in the future. The main reasons given for this are a delay in their studies and a lack of interest. The remaining respondents (36 %) state that they would have liked to take advantage of the opportunity to spend time abroad. Here, too, the main reason given for not taking up the opportunity was the delay in studying, but also financial reasons, a lack of information on the subject of studying abroad and a lack of compatibility with other study requirements were frequently cited.
