Abstract | This contribution reflects on dilemmas and ambivalences, when teaching and learning about the Holocaust in a country that was neutral at that time. In a first part, it deals with dilemmas such as the used vocabulary, the ambivalent perception that exists in Switzerland, the question of comparing with other genocides and the possibilities and limits of linking it with Human rights education. A second part deals with the emotions and expectations of teachers as well as of students, and the question where to focus, be it on victims, on perpetrators or on bystanders. |
