AbstractThis chapter is a dialogue between Susan Edgerton, retired professor from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and Patrick Slattery, Professor and Associate Department Head for Graduate Studies at Texas A&M University. Early in Bill Pinar's tenure at Louisiana State University, Susan and Patrick were graduate students, their time overlapping by about two years. The Curriculum Theory Project was not yet born, but it was gestating. From the time they began working with William Pinar and the remarkable faculty he gathered in the 1980s, they began their witness of a transformation of the field of curriculum theory at national and eventually international education conferences. Their own lives were profoundly affected by new insights and understandings brought to them by their graduate education in Curriculum Theory at LSU - insights and understandings that altered their career choices and the ways they have lived their lives. A procession of inspiring curriculum theory scholars emerged from this LSU program that created the Curriculum Theory Project. They reminisce about their remarkable experiences during that intellectually rich time in their lives and for the field of Curriculum Theory.
