| Abstract | Physical activities often are overlooked at the university level. Young adults at this stage of their lives are focused on building their professional careers and expanding their social circles, often at the expense of physical activities. However, sufficient evidence supports the importance of continuing physical activities during university days. This article brings together evidence of this impact and highlights the lack of strategies, regulations, and policies surrounding the promotion of physical activities at universities. It spotlights some of the existing barriers, concluding that with existing facilities on most campuses today and the potential benefits of physical activity, its promotion seems to be an opportunity with minimal cost and considerable gains.
