Abstract	Funding support is essential to the sustainable adoption and implementation of before- and/or after-school physical activity programs worldwide. In this chapter, we begin by describing the rationale for seeking financial support such as grants for physical activity programming. Following the trans-theoretical model (Prochaska & Norcross, 2014), we characterize the grant writing effort in five developmental stages of change (i.e., pre-contemplation, contemplation, preparation, action, and maintenance). Securing substantial funding support is difficult and requires strong determination, persistence, skill, experience, and luck. We describe some typical barriers for pursuing grants and offer strategies to potentially overcome these barriers, followed by a list of funding sources and examples compiled from active scholars worldwide (i.e., United States, United Kingdom, China, Australia, and France). We conclude the chapter by sharing several tips for successful grant writing to help readers locate, seek, and secure resources needed for before- and/or after-school physical activity programming.
