| Abstract | The paper sets out to evaluate a multimedia self-study language learning course, which has been offered at the University of Bayreuth since summer semester 1998. One of the main aims of the course was to foster learner autonomy by offering the learner a range of language learning materials, which were specifically tailored to their needs. A brief description of the materials is provided and the results of the questionnaire, which was employed as a data collection instrument to assess the effectiveness of the materials used and hopefully to provide valuable feedback on how the course can be modified and improved. A SWOT analysis is then used to ascertain the various strengths and weaknesses of the course and suggestions are made on how the course can be improved. (Verlag, adapt.). |
