| Abstract | Sport history review (SHR) was the first journal published in any language that was devoted exclusively to the history of sport and physical education. SHR's mandate clearly stated that the editor and editorial board are committed to addressing topics and issues of international interest. A more thorough content analysis of SHR articles outlining, for example, dominant themes, sports, countries, methodological frameworks, and theoretical perspectives would certainly be informative. Women's history is about girls and women, whereas gender history takes gender, as a social category of power relations, centrally into account. Sport history generally is a male-dominated field, but this information demonstrates the potential opportunities available for women sport historians and others whose research is about gender or females to present new studies to the readership. Consumers of journal content have steadily migrated to online access, which has motivated publishers to improve their web-based user experience. (Autor). |
