| Abstract | "The Enterprisers explores how exactly such schools came into being. It follows the evolution, importation, and reformulation of organizational forms, while illustrating different types of administrative entrepreneurs and various entrepreneurial strategies. Archival materials permit a detailed reconstruction of the vicissitudes of the 'micro-political' struggles surrounding key institutional shifts in the processes of school institutionalization.
