(DIPF/Orig.). The article takes up crucial empirical findings of a completed study, in which a project to strengthen participation via the collaboration of day care facilities and early intervention was investigated. The results subsequently discussed here show that, in contrary to the objective of the project-a more participatory inclusive practice-the initiated collaboration led to a narrowing of the focus on diffuse risk factors and, as a result, pathologising practices that were promoted in the field of day care, which effectively prevented participation, which was paradoxically legitimised by establishing it.
