Abstract"Graduate employability is a significant concern for most higher education institutions worldwide. During the last two decades, universities have attempted to implement their employability agendas to support their students to enhance employment outcomes. However, within today's globalized labour markets, employability has gone far beyond the notion of obtaining stable and permanent employment. This book explores graduates' experiences in developing and utilizing employability capitals for career development and success in different labour markets. -- Contents: The need to develop graduate employability for a globalized world -- Employability, employability capital, and career development : a literature review -- Using narrative inquiry and critical reflection to examine graduate employability and career development -- Toward securing employment in the host country : personal agency in early career journey -- Differences in experiences of career development in host and home countries -- Beyond human capital : the role of other types of capital in graduates' career development -- Beyond human capital : combining different employability capitalsfor career development -- Developing and using social networks for occupational mobility in different labour markets -- Using personal agency in achieving different career goals -- Career development as a journey to construct professional identity -- Circumnavigation : supporting employability by developing 'capitals' -- Why should I walk the same career development pathways as everyone else? -- Employability and determinants of employment outcomes -- The way ahead for the employability agenda in higher education.
