(DIPF/Orig.). In discourses around development policy, a particular importance is given to education. Education is considered a key driver for social and economic development. In policy papers, the importance of basic education as well as education in sub-Saharan Africa as a priority is emphasized. However, it has not yet been examined whether and to what extent this rhetoric is reflected in actual financial transfers. In this article, the role of the education sector in the context of financial transfers in the field of development cooperation is investigated. To what extent are education issues taken into account in the finances of German development cooperation? (DIPF/Orig.). |
