Abstract	Primary schools in Germany are in the process of becoming inclusive schools. This is considered as a chance for the recognition of the diversity of childrens lived experiences. Nevertheless, the individualising regime on children may become more powerful in the inclusive school. Drawing on data from ethnographic participant observation, this paper examines, how learning and teaching are often practiced as dyadic interaction between adult and child and how this stabiles the adult-child binary. The paper will argue that the focus on the child as an individual learner may enforce the binary of the helpless child dependent on the competent adult. (DIPF/Orig.).
