(DIPF/Orig.). In the practice of primary schools, class council is said to be a democratical dialogue circle with special impact on participation and solving problems. Theoretical and empirical analysis made clear that the concept is integrated into numerous inconsistencies and paradoxical structures. To answer the question, how the children accomplish the ambivalent practice and what meaning they attribute to the council, a qualitative research in a primary school aimed at the tacit knowledge of the actors and worked out different types of self-organisation of a class council.
