Abstract | In university mathematics, support measures address diverse goals in terms of students' knowledge and abilities, motivation and beliefs, or institutional goals like the reduction of dropout rates. In order to facilitate the analysis of specific support measures' goals, their evaluation and comparisons with other forms of support, we aim at developing a taxonomy for these goals. To this end, we have analyzed documents of 44 innovative projects of mathematics support in Germany and conducted supplementary interviews with teaching staff. We present the method and intermediary results of this research and discuss its potential use for researchers, policy makers and teaching. (Orig.). |
