(DIPF/Orig.). One of the primarily pursued goals of the expansion of all-day schooling in Germany was to press the equality of opportunity. Yet still school attainment is linked to the socio-economic background. Using empirical data on all-day primary schools, participants of the extended education times and extracurricular activities and non-participants are being compared. The results show that non- participants are the group with lower social background. Compared to variables of social background or school performance the "contact to the educational staff" (i.e. the personal which is responsible for the extended education times) shows to be a strong factor between groups.
