| Abstract | Was geschieht, wenn man zwei rivalisierende Paradigmen zur Kindheit zusammenführt? Genauer, wenn die Kindheitssoziologie ihre Konzepte in ein Sozialisationsmodell einbringt, als dessen Herausforderung sie sich doch als "neue" Soziologie der Kindheit verstanden wissen wollte? Die beiden Konzepte "generationale Ordnung" und "Kind als Akteur" lassen sich zunächst problemlos in den Versuch des Sozialisationsparadigmas einfügen, die Vorbereitung von Heranwachsenden auf gesellschaftliche Teilhabe zu fassen. Mit einem in dieser Weise revidierten Sozialisationsmodell ergibt sich allerdings ein anderer Blick auf das Aufwachsen und auf ein zentrales Thema der Sozialisationsforschung: die Abhängigkeit der Bildungschancen von der sozialen Herkunft. Dabei fügen sich manche Ergebnisse der empirischen Bildungsforschung in das neue Bild ein. Der so erarbeitete theoretische Ansatz wird zur Interpretation eines Strukturmodells aus der eigenen Forschung - einer Erhebung an Drittklässlern - verwendet. What happens, if two competing theoretical paradigms on childhood are brought together? More precisely: what happens if childhood sociological concepts are transferred into a model of socialization that the "new" sociology of childhood wanted to challenge once? Initially, it is not problematic to include the two concepts "generational order" and the "child as actor" into this draft paradigm which attempts to conceive the preparation of children and adolescents for their future participation in society. A socialization model that is revised in such a way, though, implies a shifted view on growing up and on a most central topic of socialization research: the dependency of educational opportunities on social background. Some results of educational research, however, fit into this new image. The here developed theoretical approach is used for the interpretation of a structural equation model, referring to data from the authors' own research - a survey with third graders. |
