AbstractThe current modernization of preschool education, the introduction in 2013 of the Federal State Educational Standard of preschool education (FGOSDO) require new, more integrated approaches to physical education of preschool children. Music motor direction of physical education of preschool children, including mentally retarded children and those with speech disorders, was presented by the researchers. On the basis of the analysis of motor and music activities their relationship and the possibility of integration are defined, and the concept and essence of music and motor activity are characterized and defined in the context of physical education of preschool children. During the long-term experiment the authors designed a systemic model of physical training on the basis of subject-role rhythmic gymnastics, including for children with mental retardation and speech disorders, and the system of adaptive physical education of mentally retarded preschool children based on the music and motor activity. The music-motor activity is effective due to the possibility of multitouch stimulation of its components (music and movement) on the body and personality of the child of preschool age. The game component of music-motor activity stands out as mandatory and is provided by the literary and storyline of classes, creation of bodily music artistic images of heroes of tales. During the discussion of the findings of the study, the data of educational experiments related to the implementation of the developed models in the educational process of preschool institutions were presented. The efficiency of the authors' developments was confirmed by a significant increase in motor qualities and mental, including cognitive, processes of preschool children attributed to the experimental groups compared with the control one, as well as by the results of the correction of the existing gaps in mental and speech development of preschool children with mental retardation and speech disorders. One may talk of the formation of the music motor direction in physical education of preschool children, ensuring the integration of motor and cognitive activity and effective motor and mental, including intellectual, development of children aged 3-7 years.
