Abstract | The degree of formation of professional orientation can be expressed in different levels of development of its components and the manifestation of relevant reflections, which leads to a decrease in the interest in the subject of one's labour and own work, lack of social responsibility and understanding of the humanistic sense of one's activity. Therefore, the purpose of the present study was to assess the formation of professional orientation of an individual and its components in the students of the speciality "Physical education for persons with disabilities (Adaptive Physical culture)" when learning in the university. Based on the findings, the author concludes on the varied dynamics of professional orientation as a whole and its individual components. Such components as "resistance" and "total valency" (N. V. Kuzmin's classification) contributed to the lowest level of orientation at the time of practical training. Comparing the data obtained in the survey with the current level of resistance as one of the stages of emotional burnout of students, the author found an inverse relationship between these parameters.
