AbstractThe results of the experimental verification of the concept and program of personality-centered physical education, which was conducted at Donetsk National University, are given in the paper. The personality-centered approach applied in the educational process of the University had a significant impact on the outlook of the students and resulted in the increase of the rating of the values of "health", "cognition" (the ability to expand their educational horizons, general culture, intellectual development) and the actual "development", (self-cultivation, physical and spiritual improvement) among boys in the experimental group - EG (p(=0,01) and the values of "health" and "cognition" in girls of the EG (p(=0,01). Independent efficiency of increase and improvement of indices by the proposed methodology was 44%. The significant differences in the control group of girls were confirmed in three of the nine tests (p(0.05), and the independent efficiency of improvement in the indices according to the existing (conventional) methodology was 33%. Significant differences between girls of the EG and the CG in the level of physical fitness and functional state before and after the experiment were confirmed in 8 of 9 tests (p(0.05). Thus, the effectiveness of the quality of increase and improvement in the indices with the use of the new methodology is 89%. Significant differences in boys of the EG in physical fitness level and functional state before and after the experiment were confirmed in 3 of 9 tests (p(0.05). Thus, independent efficiency of the increase and improvement in the indices by the new methodology was 33%. Significant differences in boys of the CG were confirmed in 1 of 9 tests (p(0.05), and the independent efficiency of improvement in the indices according to the existing (conventional) method was 11%. Significant differences between boys of the EG and the CG were confirmed in 6 of 9 tests (p(0.05). Thus, the effectiveness of the degree of increase and improvement of the indices by the new methodology was 67%. The prospects for future research include the possibility of introducing the personality-centered physical education of students in Donetsk National University. Verf.-Referat.
