Abstract	This provocative article reviews the standards and expectations of present day Austrian School Evaluation reports. The second two volume study "Nationaler Bildungsbericht" of 2012 presents indicators and extensive analysis. The testing of competencies as drafted by national educational standards does not correspond with more sophisticated societal expectations as outlined in the National Basic Law in the current version of 2012, as well as those of parental expectations. The author reflects upon the surprising results which include tendencies which ironically contradict the governmental reform strategy which measures schooling favourably based on output. Negative effects are also caused by the influence on school organization and the feedback of standardized testing on the tested specific subjects as evidenced by the OECD, to which the Austrian government subscribes. This procedure therefore is one, which in the view of the author is both wrong and negative. This also is not accepted by teachers. (DIPF/Orig.).
