(Autorenreferat). "The baby boom cohorts are important stakeholders in societal aging. Therefore their continuing education activities attract special political attention. But other than programmatic statements in the discourse of lifelong learning would suggest, continuing education is not necessarily a matter of course for these cohorts. The article points out that participation in adult education is notably age-image- and life-phase-dependent. Based on qualitative empirical findings we focus and elaborate on how this complex relationship between age images and orientations towards continuing education is shaped in adults born between 1954 and 1964."
