Abstract	In this study we aim to present a new methodology related to the field of didactic textbook research, which we call Geometric Didactic Analysis - Ge.Di.An. It is a proposal describing a procedure for performing a specific type of didactic analysis. The theoretical background of Ge.Di.An. can be found in two methods, developed in the frame of a statistical field called Data Analysis: the first is named "factorial correspondence analysis" and the second "hierarchical classification analysis". The connection point between didactic analysis and the methods of Data Analysis pertains to the idea of taxonomy. In this paper, we apply Ge.Di.An. on the didactic analysis of tasks in the religion textbook, which is used as a learning tool in the first class of junior high schools in Greece.
